Ballet Fundraiser
Marjorie Lillian Patricia Thomas
1933 - 2018

Patricia or Pat to her friends, this is a photo of my lovely Mum who passed away five years ago this September.

As some of you know she had been living with dementia for several years before she died.

September is also World Alzheimer's month, so as a tribute to my late mother and to support those and their families who are affected by this disease I wanted to hold a fundraising event.

From Ballet to Ballroom my Mum had a life long love of dance that she definitely passed onto me and when I found out about Scottish Ballet's 'Time to Dance' community programme, I knew this was the charity to support.

What is 'Time to Dance'?

It's a community healthcare programme that offers free in-person sessions with live music to those living with dementia and their family, friends and carers.

There are also free On-demand sessions online or on DVD that are available to care homes and day centres all over the country.
